branding & packaging design
PROCESS
A new brand sign was expected to modernise the appearance and stand apart from other astrology websites so that it could correspond to the peculiarities of the target audience which includes modern millennials.
The style chosen for it then had to be iconic so it could be developed into a set of branded visuals. The logo mark symbolizes a gavel entering the cosmos.
Logo Breakdown
LOGO
It started with brainstorming and analysing the client's vision of a distinctive visual. As they wanted the modernization, the brand sign was expected to be more playful and fresh, yet simple with abstract elements. In addition, the client asked to keep the logo in hues of pink and purple colour palette as it corresponds to their vision of the brand image.
When all the tasks were considered and the direction was chosen, the designer started the creative process. The first stage was silhouette searching. The pencil sketching technique was applied to quickly visualise the first ideas on the paper. The sketches helped in making the communication much more effective helping the client to understand our ideas.
Colour Variations
Initial sketches for AstroJudge
Also, one of the client’s requests was to add the wordmark to the brand sign. So, we experimented with various typefaces to match the right font with the illustration. Considering all the aspects, the designer created several variants to match with the logomark.
Logo Construction
AstroJudge team liked the minimalist option of the logo, so we moved to the next stage which requires working with colours and polishing the details.
Logo Typeface
The final logo was completed in a flat minimalistic style. We managed to combine both the illustration of the gavel and the wordmark together. The colour palette was chosen according to the clients’ expectations. Hues of purple , light blue and pink colour gave the feeling of luxury, power and ambition and the slight gradient made the logo more playful and modern-looking which responded to their brand strategy.
Also, a monochromatic variant was provided to be used in cases when colour couldn’t be applied. The wordmark typography was chosen that way so it could work in harmony with the brand sign and represent a brand character.
